Almost forgot, I put out a video a couple (ok like 3) months ago and didn't post it here. Because I'm lazy. I have a bike blog at http://www.ATXBS.com, check that shit out if you want to see more videos and know about local (Austin) bike bullshit. | | Monday, November 5th, 2007 | | 11:03 pm |
Almost forgot, here's a copy of my latest video in shitty youtube resolution. It's the Austin Halloween Critical Mass ride, and we had around 200 riders show up this last month. Great ride y'all!
Lemme know what you think.

It's (almost) Mah Birthday!!! Tomorrow is my birthday and so to celebrate me surviving 28 rotations around the glowing ball that will someday destroy everything we know and love we're going to go and drink beer at Gingerman. We're gonna get there around 8 and hang around for a while so swing on by and have a pint. There'll be cake. | | Thursday, August 9th, 2007 | | 8:35 pm |
Jesus Christ, what's with today? I went through the windshield of a strippers' Honda CRV this afternoon on my way home from a post-work get-together. Chick was coming out of a parking lot and saw the car in front of me but didn't see me. I saw her coming right for me and kinda bunny hopped my fixie, taking me up on her hood and through the windshield. Totally smashed it in (came free from the top but stayed attached at the bottom) but my bike was ok and I have a few nice (6" long) cuts on my back. The bike landed in the street and I kinda bounced off her windshield and somehow landed on my feet. I ordered her to pull over and she did. When she saw the blood on my back she freaked out. I got her hoodie so I could clean the blood off my back, and then asked for all her info. Like I said she was a stripper, just getting out of work and heading home. She was broke because she'd just gotten her HPV vaccination (still had the bandaid on her arm), didn't have insurance, and just moved here from out of state. I got about $90 in $1s and her phone number. Also got her license number, old address, plate, etc. If she doesn't get me another three bills tomorrow I'm calling the cops on her. Yeehaw, another day commuting in Austin, Texas. ( My shoulder behind the cut ) | | Wednesday, July 4th, 2007 | | 11:40 am |
Ugh. I'm not happy with my life right now. I want to be. I can't change the past, hopefully I can change me. If not I feel like I'm going to lose my mind.
Happy 4th, everyone. | | Thursday, June 28th, 2007 | | 9:59 am |

I feel like I'm coming apart at the seams. I can't stand my insecurities and weakness, but haven't found a way of getting over them. I feel like I'm slipping back into the old me and I don't like it. I'm sorry friends, and mostly I'm sorry love. I'm going through a rough time now. | | Saturday, June 16th, 2007 | | 10:50 am |
It's been a crazy week but it's over. Fucking finally. Hello weekend, lets have some fun! | | Thursday, May 3rd, 2007 | | 9:08 am |
RAIN I finally convince my beautiful and talented wife to join me on one of my silly bike riding excursions (in this case the monthly Moonlight Cruise) and of course within a minute of hopping on the bikes to get down there the sky unleashes its fury. After about 5 minutes and as many blocks we both decided "fuck this" and turn around for the car. I ended up biking back to the car while my sweetie waited under an overhang for me to return and pick her up. We got home and dry with a slight detour to grab sandwiches. Damn, that sucked. | | Wednesday, May 2nd, 2007 | | 9:21 am |
New Critical Mass video! Here's my latest Critical Mass video, from last week (April ride):
I actually did a little more work on this one than the last, let me know what you think.

My everything test. The Everything Test There are many different types of tests on the internet today. Personality tests, purity tests, stereotype tests, political tests. But now, there is one test to rule them all. Traditionally, online tests would ask certain questions about your musical tastes or clothing for a stereotype, your experiences for a purity test, or deep questions for a personality test. We're turning that upside down - all the questions affect all the results, and we've got some innovative results too! Enjoy :-) | Personality | You are more logical than emotional, more concerned about others than concerned about self, more religious than atheist, more dependent than loner, more lazy than workaholic, more traditional than rebel, more engineering mind than artistic mind, more idealist than cynical, more leader than follower, and more extroverted than introverted.
As for specific personality traits, you are outgoing (100%), romantic (86%), religious (73%), innovative (64%). | | | Stereotypes | | Old Geezer | 83% | | Punk Rock | 80% | | Geek | 71% | | | | Life Experience | | Sex | 65% | | Substances | 41% | | Travel | 38% | | Politics Your political views would best be described as Socialist, whom you agree with around 94% of the time. | | Socioeconomic Your attitude toward life best associates you with Working Class. You make more than 92% of those who have taken this test, and 25% more than the U.S. average. | If your life was a movie, it would be rated R. By the way, your hottness rank is 60%, hotter than 48% of other test takers. | TAKE THE TEST brought to you by thatsurveysite | | Thursday, April 12th, 2007 | | 7:38 pm |

Whew! Holy shit, rush hour traffic altercations get my blood pumping!
In a car I fear them, on a bike I look forward to them. I love giving them the look that lets them know I will destroy their vehicle with my anger if they push me to it, and that I relish the opportunity. It makes my day to see the caged animal look that a driver gets when he realizes that he is stuck in his machine at my disposal for as long as I care play with him. I love to see the fear in a drivers eyes via his rear-view mirror or a fleeting over-the-shoulder glance as he and his car high-tail it for the highway to get away from me. Up until impact (at which point physics take over) size is all about presence and on days like today, SUVs and Ford F-150s never looked so small...

Bike violence I bled from a crash today. First time to spill the red red kroovy from a bike accident, thanks asshole. I got cut off as I was turning onto the private drive into my offices. That means it was probably someone I work with. I hope I can find out who it is. I reported the incident to security, let's see if they do anything. | | Saturday, December 2nd, 2006 | | 10:04 am |

Hanging at a friend's house, watching Clockwork Orange. My pal Josh has never seen it. Madness! The insurance adjuster checked out my bike yesterday and it looks like I'm going to be getting a new one. Now I just want them to get me paid up SOON.
I've been tooling around on my bike EVERYWHERE lately. This weather has been awesome. | | Thursday, November 23rd, 2006 | | 1:04 am |
Crash crash bang bang. Well, more of the crash, less of the bang. On my ride home from work today I got hit by a car. Technically *I* hit the car, but as I was heading north on Guadalupe (a main road for the non Austinites out there) in the right-hand lane (taking the whole lane) and she was on a side street at a T-junction (44th St. to you Austinites) and decided slow down for and then accelerate through the stop sign, pulling out RIGHT in front of me as I was doing 25mph on my fixie. I hit brakes and lock my wheel but I was probably moving along at about 20mph when I impacted the side of her car with my bike and right shoulder. She may not have seen me when she ran the sign, but she sure as hell did when my face was like 3 feet from the drivers window, bracing for impact. The look on her face at that exact moment was almost worth the impact that shortly followed. Following the accident she pulled over and gave me her insurance information, and when I got home I called them and started the claim.
My bike got fairly banged up but I think the frame is straight. I bent the handlebars and brake lever back into place but it's being kinda creaky and the wheels are definitely out of true. I also scuffed up some paint and tore the seat, which USAA should be graciously replacing. My knee smarts something awful when I put weight on it, so I'm going to go to the doc. | | Tuesday, November 14th, 2006 | | 7:17 am |
I hate depression. It makes every little fuckup feel monumental. | | Friday, November 10th, 2006 | | 7:27 am |
Late night and feeling good. I just finished riding to Epoch on my Motobecane and cracked rib. Managed a 17.8mph average with a busted rib, not too bad. For some reason I'm feeling really amped right now. Listening to some fucking kickass music and really happy about life in general, despite the dull pain in my side (thank you vicodin for taking away the sharp). Planning festivities for the weekend, should be fun. Peace out. |
